Welcome to the Teaching Models Online!

What, you might ask, is considered a teaching model?

Teaching models are the strategies used to teach. They are the methods or techniques teachers engage in to help students to learn - to teach students to think and learn. But do we teach what matters most?

These foundational concepts or "Standards" reinforce what you have already been exposed to in other classes in this program.  For example, in Learning Theory you read Gardner's "Intelligence Reframed."  Chapter 10 of that text introduces the reader to the seven entry points for engaging students. This directly addresses "Diversity."

This semester you will reflect on your teaching, and learn to determine the best ways to help each student to learn, think, and process information.

By examining the Standards for teaching, and by reflecting on your individual strategies, you will grow as a teacher throughout this course.  As you progress, you can look forward to the next course in this program.  Teachers as Leaders is designed to demonstrate techniques for reclaiming the joy of teaching.
